Charles Platt completes the 49th Precinct Building in the Bronx

Charles Platt coordinates the renovation of Gracie Mansion (the home to New York City's mayor)
Ray Dovell joins Charles A. Platt Partners

Charles Platt designs the Visitor's Center at the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Park in New Hampshire

1150 Fifth Avenue project begins
Paul Byard joins Charles Platt to form Platt & Byard and begins his presidency at the Archtectural League

Ray Dovell rejoins the firm to form Platt Byard Dovell (PBD)

PBD's first new building in an historic district approved in 15 minutes by LPC

Design work on the Baryshnikov guest house begins
Anne Holford-Smith joins PBD

A number of Central Park projects start, including the new construction of the Dana Discovery Center and the Ballplayers Refreshment Stand, as well as the renovation of The Pulitzer Fountain
Charles A. Dana Discovery Center in Central Park wins an AIA New York State Design Award and New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission Design Award

Carr residence in Bridgehampton, New York

PBD's first project with Green-Wood, the Gothic Revival Gate restoration, begins an ongoing relationship leading up to the most recently completed project the Ft. Hamilton Gatehouses
1997
PBD completes the Chanel headquarters building on 57th Street, after winning a competition to design their Piscataway, NJ manufacturing facilities
1998
The Architecture of Additions, by Paul Byard and The Houses of McKim, Mead, & White, by Sam White are published
Renovations begin at Flushing Town Hall, an arts center in Queens
1999
Matthew Mueller joins PBD
2000
2000
New 42 is completed and wins an AIA New York Chapter Design Award and an AIA National Honor Award in Architecture
Paul Byard becomes the Director of Historic Preservation at Columbia's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, which he continues until 2008 and in 2017 the Paul S. Byard Memorial lecture program is started in his honor

Platt Byard Dovell and Buttrick White & Burtis merge to form Platt Byard Dovell White (PBDW)

New building projects at Green-Wood begin with the Hillside Mausoleum, Tranquility Garden, Columbarium, and Modern Chapel Addition

The Cooper Union Foundation Building Restoration is completed and wins an AIA New York Chapter Design Award and Preservation League of New York State: Excellence in Historic Preservation Award

The Equinox Greenwich Village flagship building is completed and starts PBDW's longstanding collaboration with Equinox

The Spence Lower School expansion is completed
2004
The Saginaw Art Museum is completed, and wins an American Architecture Award from The Chicago Athenaeum, an AIA Michigan Chapter Design Award and an AIA New York Chapter Design Award

PBDW's ongoing relationship with The New York Historical begins

The Reece School is completed, PBDW's first foray into special needs education

Scott Duenow joins PBDW

PBDW's first project with Park Avenue Armory begins which is the start of an ongoing relationship

The Upper West Side multi-family condo building, Broadway + 110 is completed

Poly Prep's addition and renovation is completed and wins a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from New York Landmarks Conservancy
